About Tagaytay

The Dacha is located at the eastern part of the windy city of Tagaytay, with its own unique character and personality. Tagaytay City is also home to the world’s smallest volcano, the Taal Volcano, is an island within an island within an island. This natural wonder is a source of pride among the city’s residents and a phenomenon to the delight of the inquisitive minds of volcanologists and geologists alike. On a clear day, the view of Taal Volcano in its entire majestic splendor is a breathtaking sight. Equally unparalleled is the romantic and sentimental mood bought about when the misty fog envelops the hillsides surrounding the city of Tagaytay. As visitors, local and foreign alike, who experience the sight only have one thing to say - 'Wonderful'.

Tagaytay City is also known for its pineapples. The fruit grows in abundance all year round throughout the lush hillsides. The pineapples of Tagaytay are also a source of pride to its inhabitants as the taste and texture of each fruit is comparable, even better than those found in other countries of the world.

As the crossroad of southern provinces located in the island of Luzon, Tagaytay City is a melting pot of southern culture. Tagaytay is known for its culinary delights like Bulalo, a rich soup made from beef bone marrows - boiled for hours on end, Tilapia succulent and insulin rich - and the local fish, tawilis (smoked or dried), found only in Taal Lake.

True to the Filipino tradition, the people of Tagaytay are very hospitable and always welcome the opportunity of touring visitors around the city. From horseback riding to taking a boat ride in Taal Lake, a myriad of activities await those who come to stay in this city.

Tagaytay City is the southern provinces’ answer to Baguio City. Offering the same ambience and cool climate, Tagaytay is easily accessible to motorists, only an hour and a half’s easy driving from the business districts of Makati and Quezon City.

All of these things - and more make Tagaytay City an ideal place to hie off for a getaway. Unparalleled and unequaled, this city of character and pride is a treasure waiting to be explored.
