The ACS Group of Companies starts when spouses Jacinto H. Santiago Jr. and Arlene C. Santiago founded ACS Trading, a sole proprietorship engaged in the wholesale and retail of construction materials, hardware, plumbing and electrical supplies.
ACS Trading has already served a multitude of customers since it first started in the booming trading business.
1994 Timeline
Seeing the potential in the construction business and capitalized by the technical expertise of Engr. Jacinto H. Santiago, ACS widens its line of business to include general engineering, construction development and construction management. In January, a new corporation was born by the name of ACS DEVELOPMENT & PROPERTY MANAGERS, INC. - engaged in design and general engineering, civil works, construction of buildings, and real estate and property development.
1996 Timeline
The years 1994-1996 proved to be banner years for ACS Development & Property Managers, Inc. The Corporation manages to finish and turn over several private and government projects. The 6 storey Tagaytay City Hall Building, the Tagaytay Housing ( Pabahay 2000 ) Projects, the Ospital ng Tagaytay and several commercial bank buildings are among those completed in record time.
1997 Timeline
Due to the sudden economic crisis in Asia, the construction business slows down. A mechanical engineer by trade, Engr. Jacinto H. Santiago, the President & Chief Executive Officer, creates a new division in the Corporation he named the Industrial Engineering Division. This Division handles industrial engineering services, like line automation, repair and supply of conveyor line, boiler repair and a lot more.
Engr. Santiago also introduces the Robotics Palletizer and Depalletizer in the Philippines. Some of the major companies ACS currently services are Nestle Philippines, San Miguel Corp., Purefoods Hormel Company , and Universal Robina Corporation, to name a few.
Meeting manufacturers, distributors, and dealers all over the world while looking for supplies/suppliers for Industrial Engineering Services, the Santiagos were offered to distribute heavy machineries and industrial equipment. It was then, in 1997 that ACS Technics, Inc. is incorporated . It becomes the sole and exclusive distributor in the Philippines of the Lumonics Laser Coding System – the pioneer in laser coding. It also becomes the sole distributor in the Philippines of several high quality brand industrial ink jet printers and industrial machineries. 2000 Timeline
Born traders and businesspersons, they see the demand for imported industrial engineering supplies, instrumentation equipment, pumps & motors, and imported chemicals. Banking on the satisfied and valued customers of ACS Development & Property Managers, Inc. (ADPROM) and ACS Technics, Inc. (Technics) a new company was soon established by the name of Motie’s Enterprises, named after their only son Timotei Martin.
Motie’s Enterprises is known in the Philippine industry as an importer supplier of instrumentation equipment, industrial engineering supplies, pumps & motors, and imported chemicals .
Motie’s Enterprises proudly counts itself as one of the very few companies in the Philippines who have a license to import restricted drugs and chemicals by the Dangerous Drugs Board of the Philippines.
2001 Timeline
Everybody in the Construction Industry says that it’s still not yet the year for construction with the whole of Asia still trying to recover from the previous year’s economic crisis, but this did not hinder Engr. Santiago’s love for design and construction of quality houses. With support from the Board of Directors, the President’s dream for quality vacation houses turns into a reality. It is during this year when his dream vacation houses are completed. He christens the place 'TAGAYTAY DACHA VILLAS'. The Villas are then opened for lease to local and international tourists alike.
2002 Timeline
Seeing the rising demand for houses/rooms for rent in Tagaytay and right after the 18th birthday of the spouses’ first born, Jaja, Engr. Santiago announces that the Corporation will build and construct a 30-room Hotel as a birthday gift and welcome present to Jaja, who later joins the Corporation ( ADPROM & ACS Technics) and is then elected by the board of directors to the position of Corporate Secretary for both Companies. She owns 20% of shares for both ADPROM & ACS Technics.
With Jaja joining the Corporation, she introduces the concept of TIMESHARE where all would-be-owners own a certain period of time and occupy a unit of accommodation on a regular basis for a number of years. The most exciting part of this concept is the opportunity it gives to the owners to exchange their vacation week for a week in any of the thousands of affiliated resorts around the world.
2003 Timeline
ACS Development and Property Managers, Inc. now ventures into the hospitality and timeshare industry with a big bang! ADPROM unveils its flagship project Tagaytay Dacha Villas promising quality holidays and accommodations at a reasonable cost.
Mc JS Tour & Travel, a travel agency and booking office is also registered and established by the Spouses Santiago to serve its timeshare clientele and to facilitate trips and vacation schedules of the would-be-timeshare owners. The company is also in-charge of making arrangements for local tours of the Hotel Guests and Timeshare Owners.
